Last Friday we decided to take a break from the big smoke and head to the coast for our Hopscotch Away Day in Brighton. We started the day at a Barclays Eagle Lab, a former high street bank branch transformed into a maker space and creative hub for entrepreneurs.  Our tour around the lab, where we watched 3D printers and laser cutters in action, helped to get the creative juices flowing ready for our brainstorm session. Inspiration also came in the form of cake as we celebrated Hopscotch’s 6th birthday! After working our brains hard all morning it was time to refuel and being by the sea this could only mean one thing: fish and chips.  Rolling out of the restaurant an hour or so later it was time for a spot of culture and we (slowly) strolled along to the spectacular Royal Pavilion, making time for a quick seaside selfie. The Pavilion’s restoration is truly spectacular and the meticulous attention to detail was so impressive – it’s definitely worth a visit! From finding out about King George IV’s escapades to discovering more about the building’s role as WW1 hospital, our historical knowledge had a massive boost too. Hopefully this will serve us well next time the Hop-scotch-egg-heads take on another pub quiz! Tired and thirsty, the day finished with a drink or two at the pub where we toasted our amazing team and looked forward to another wonderful year at Hopscotch! – See more at:
